Professional Development Volunteerism

Think about your last performance review or an attractive job posting that floated across your desk. Were there skills you lacked or were less confident about?

Interested in building strong relationships with your local and national peers?

Looking for a place to send your employees to enhance their skills through hands-on experience?

Volunteering with GMN can help members practice existing skills or even better, gain new ones! Whatever your interest, GMN can help build your resume.

Volunteer with GMN Today!

EVERYONE is welcome and encouraged to participate; any GMN member may serve. Your work can be as heavy or light as your schedule permits. Work teams generally meet by phone so no travel is required.

GMN’s current volunteer opportunities include:

  • Monitoring developments in the field, setting standards and best practices, and sharing that knowledge through the GM Guide, newsletter, conference, and other vehicles.
  • Managing a regional chapter.
  • Marketing and promotion of the Grants Managers Network and its programs, resources, and services.
  • Designing and delivering sessions for regional meetings and the GMN Annual Conference.
  • Overseeing GMN’s financial planning and reporting, including management of the audit process.
  • Building fundraising skills that can help you better understand your grantee’s challenges.
  • Developing strategies to grow GMN’s membership.

More information on these and other GMN volunteer opportunities can be found in GMN’s member community.
