Membership Categories

The Grants Managers Network's bylaws define who is eligible for GMN membership.  GMN currently allows the following categories of members:

Individual (Voting)

Individual members are those people currently employed by a grantmaking organization who hold responsibility for grants management or for a portion of the grants management activities of their grantmaking organization. As voting members of GMN, these members approve GMN bylaws changes and elect the board of directors.

Honorary (Non-Voting)

The GMN Board of Directors may designate individuals who do not qualify under the Individual category as honorary members, using such criteria as it may develop.  Honorary members currently include the following groups of individuals:

Retirees

GMN encourages its members to stay involved in the field as active members and volunteers, while sharing their vast storage of knowledge with the profession.

Members Between Jobs

During a job search is when our members may need GMN and their colleagues the most. We’ve extended membership for 12 months after members leave their organizations to support them in their search.

Partners

GMN works with regional associations, other funder networks, and complementary organizations to develop and deliver programs and services to members. Having these people as part of our membership keeps them informed of what is happening in GMN and helps them gain a better understanding of grants management and the needs and interests of grants managers.

Consultants

A variety of individuals and firms support grants managers and even handle outsourcing for grantmaking organizations. Tapping into this expertise is beneficial to GMN and its members. Consultants are required to join GMN as Contributing Organization Members.  By providing financial support to GMN, these members receive all of the benefits associated with this level of engagement and are required to agree and sign GMN's Terms and Conditions of Membership.  Please contact Member Services at (888) GMN-1996 or info [at] gmnetwork [dot] org for more information.
