There is exciting news at GMN…we have met our fundraising goal for 2010! A very big THANK YOU to all of our contributing members. Haven’t made your contribution yet? DON’T LET THIS STOP YOU! Any additional funds that we are able to secure above our original goal will help us to further develop programs for our members, expand the organizational capacity of GMN, and even build a small reserve. Many of you review financial statements as part of your job as grants managers so you understand the need for reserves and strong organizational capacity.
This is the second year that GMN has been working on a focused fundraising outreach effort, but the first year that we have met our objectives. We are thrilled that we’ve exceeded our dollar goal by 12%, and exceeded the goal for number of organizations contributing by 6%. We are very encouraged that nearly two-thirds of contributors are choosing the new Contributing Organization Member level. This will sustain GMN programs, products, and services including the online community, webinars, the annual conference, the salary survey, and GM Guide as well as the ongoing opportunities for networking and professional development.
A few additional folks deserve special thanks: GMN’s Board of Directors, which led the effort with 100% participation in making organizational and personal contributions; and by reaching out to our members through email, phone calls and face to face meetings; Kim Foster and the fundraising team who analyzed data, wrote letters, and organized our outreach campaign, and Michelle Greanias who followed up on all our questions, created tools and reports to keep us on track, and managed all the details.
The fundraising team is continuously looking for feedback from members about strategies that will strengthen our fundraising efforts as well as additional volunteers with fundraising experience or simply excitement and a willingness to get involved.
