Transparent Processes

Your website is the first face of your organization that many grantseekers see. Online access to grantmaking priorities enables applicants to easily determine their eligibility for funding, find answers to their questions, and gather appropriate expectations about the potential support.

Your website will be most useful if it offers the following resources:

  • Your mission, history, and funding priorities
  • A list of recent grants which details the size of grants awarded and the types of projects and/or organizations that received them
  • An eligibility quiz or matrix where applicants answer a series of questions to determine their organization’s fit
  • A frequently asked questions (FAQ) section
  • Statistics on number of proposals received vs. grants awarded
  • The total amount in grants you plan to award in a funding round or year

Make sure that information on your website is complete and correct, and that entries about your organization in directories and databases like The Foundation Center’s Foundation Directory Online (external link), are accurate.
