Volunteering GraphicVolunteer With The Membership Committee

The Membership Committee grows GMN by conducting outreach to potential new members and by supporting new and established regional chapters. Its efforts have made GMN one of the fastest growing funders networks in the field of philanthropy.

The skills and resume-enhancing experience you can refine or develop by volunteering with this committee include:

  • Member engagement
  • Evaluation
  • Marketing
  • Project management
  • Public speaking
  • Using technology to reach an dengage members

You’ll develop these skills through involvement with the following Membership Committee responsibilities:

  • Develop creative strategies for identifying and reaching out to potential members.
  • Ensure new members are informed of GMN’s programs, products, and services through new member materials and orientations.
  • Support existing GMN regional chapters by keeping them informed of national GMN activities, helping them to plan and execute regional meetings, and connecting regional chairs to facilitate peer-to-peer learning.
  • Identify potential locations for new regional chapters and work with members in those locations to organize a chapter.
  • Develop methods, including surveys, for soliciting member input on GMN’s activities and sharing that input with the Board and GMN regions and committees.
