Share your expertise and/or learn new skills while networking with your colleagues by joining a GMN Committee. EVERYONE is welcome and encouraged to participate; any GMN member may serve. Your work for the committee can be as heavy or light as your schedule permits. Committees will generally meet by phone so no travel is required.

Executive Committee The Executive Committee consists of the Board Co-Chairs, Secretary and Treasurer. It exercises the powers of the Board between meetings subject to limitations established by the Board. The EC supervises and oversees the work of the Executive Director. Working with the Executive Director, the Executive Committee sets Board meeting agendas, initiates the organization's annual budget and financial statements for presentation to the Board, coordinates the work of Board Committees through regular interaction and communication with committee chairs, engages actively with the Nominating Committee to ensure an equitable and forward looking nominating process, and serves as a point of contact with current and prospective funders, partners and peer organizations. Best Practices and Opportunities Committee BPOC monitors developments in the field and proposes updates to the GMN and Council on Foundations publication Best Practices in Grants Management, as well as other publications for print or online media. The committee serves a drafting and editorial function in developing content for broader dissemination. BPOC also explores opportunities for the professional development of individuals in the grants management field. Under the GMN strategic plan, the committee is tasked with investigating the possibilities of a grants management certification process. Communications Committee The Communications Committee is responsible for effective and timely communications with membership and for internal and external marketing and promotion of the Grants Managers Network. These goals will be achieved by regular publication of an eNewsletter, maintenance of a website containing current and accurate information, dissemination of press releases to external media as necessary, and the development of printed materials to market and promote GMN's mission. The committee will also serve as a resource to all other committees to ensure communication needs and issues are identified and addressed. Conference Committee The Conference Committee leads and collaborates with GMN membership and other committees to develop and execute the Annual Conference. Beyond the conference, the committee ensures a GMN presence at events of the Council on Foundations, their affinity groups, and other organizations related to the grants management field. Finally, the committee is a resource to GMN Regional Chapters. Finance Committee The Finance Committee reviews the GMN annual budget and expenditures; approves recommendations for allocation of funds; monitors allocations against the budget; reviews financial systems and procedures and implements changes as needed; selects the annual auditor; and reviews and approves bi-annual financial reports before presentation to the Board. Membership Services Committee The Membership Services Committee facilitates outreach, collaboration and liaisons with current GMN Regional Groups and groups in formation regarding the promotion of awareness of the resources of the GMN. Cross-collaboration with board committees to support communications to regional groups related to GMN initiatives, solicit membership input, and remain informed on emerging membership interest/needs and advancement. Lead convening of Salary Survey Committee, support coordination, administration, and marketing of the biennial survey. Nominating Committee The Nominating Committee ensures the continuity of capable and dedicated leadership that reflects the diversity and interests of the GMN membership. The committee solicits the membership to nominate candidates for service on the Board of Directors, assesses candidate qualifications, recommends a slate of nominees for election to the Board at the annual meeting, develops recommendations for Board officers and committee leadership for the Board's consideration, and is responsible for new board member orientation. The nominating committee takes an active role in promoting leadership development in GMN by encouraging network members to actively contribute to regional group and national committee activities.
