Presenters: Joe Behaylo, Director, Network Grants Management and External FundingSupport, Open Society Institute and Soros Foundation Network
Chad Gorski, Program Assistant, Howard Hughes Medical Institute

GMN’s Body of Knowledge (BOK) is a compendium of what a grants manager should know to work effectively in this field. The BOK’s 50+ pages are divided into 12 content areas (e.g., Legal and Tax Compliance, Ethics, Monitoring, and Evaluation) and are similar to a college course outline. The development of the BOK is one outcome of GMN’s exploration of professional certification for grants managers. Come hear an update on the development of the certification program, explore how you can use the BOK in charting your own professional development, and join a discussion of how GMN can utilize the BOK to pursue our strategic goals and better serve our membership.
