Biography:
Karin Bishop is grants manager at Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust. Karin started with the Trust in August 2001 when it released its grant guidelines. Karin was responsible for setting up the grants administration function in tandem with its grants management software to effectively monitor and track grants.
Karin is co-chair of the GMN board of directors, and a member of the program and nominating committee. She co-chaired the 2007 Program Committee and also served on the Best Practices and Opportunities Committee for two years.
Prior to working at the Trust, Karin was the vice president of community affairs for Valley of the Sun United Way. During her eight years at United Way, she was responsible for community and government relations and administering federal and local funds.
Karin graduated from the University of Delaware, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources with a specialty in Community and Family Services. She interned and later became the community director at March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation – Delaware Chapter for three years before she and her family moved to Arizona in 1993.
Karin has more than 20 years of nonprofit and foundation experience.

Biography:
Peg Butler is the Grants Manager at the Saint Luke’s Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. She joined the Foundation in 1997 when it was founded and was named Grants Manager in 2000. Previously, she spent 20 years working at two area hospitals as an administrator in the Dept. of Ob/Gyn.
Peg joined GMN in 1999 and a few years later joined the Communications Committee. She served as co-editor of the newsletter for several years. In 2006 she was elected to the Board and has served as co-chair of the Communication Committee since then. In addition Peg is also a member of the Conference Committee.
Peg was the co-coordinator of the NE Ohio Regional Group until 2007 when it was decided to expand the group state-wide. At that time, a steering committee was formed to facilitate the expansion and Peg is a member.

Biography:
Kent Cozad is the Director, Grants Administration and Compliance at amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, where he has worked for the past eight years. He became active with GMN as a member of the Program Committee in late 2003 and currently serves on the Board of Directors and chairs the Nominating Committee. Prior to grants management, Kent worked in the human services field, providing and/or supervising direct care and primary case management services for children with severe emotional and behavior problems and mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults. Seventeen years a New Yorker, he is a Kansas City native and studied music and theatre at the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

Biography:
Stephanie Duffy is the Grants Administration Manager for The McKnight Foundation in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she has been a member of the grants team for twelve years. Her primary responsibilities include managing the grant information system, implementing and providing quality control for all grantmaking procedures and systems, tracking foundation payout to meet legal requirements and program goals, and supervising two staff.
Stephanie is an active member of the Steering Committee for GMN's Minnesota Region and the GIFTS Users Group. She joined the GMN Board of Directors in July 2007 and is the Co-Chair of the Collective Knowledge Committee
Stephanie received her B.A. from St. Mary's University in 1993, majoring in political science and minoring in business. In 2004, she received her mini-M.B.A. in nonprofit management from the University of St. Thomas.

Biography:
Londell D. Jackson has held several positions while furthering his career. From 1999 through 2003 he served as the Membership Services Manager for the Colorado Association of Nonprofit Organizations (CANPO). In that role, Londell served as the primary contact for CANPO's 1,100 nonprofit member organizations, as well as the more than 200 for-profit and student affiliates. Londell was also the on-site administrator for the organization's member database and was Webmaster for the organization's Web site. During this time, Londell also served as the interim executive director for Out4Life Colorado, from 2001-2002, a local community-based African-American health organization whose mission was to provide HIV/AIDS prevention education and to promote good health among the African-American community in Colorado. Londell left CANPO in 2003 to join Gill Foundation - private foundation supporting Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender civil rights - where he served as National Program officer. In this capacity, Londell reviewed grant proposals and made funding recommendations to the foundation's executive director and board president. Londell also managed the foundation's Employment Equality Program, which helped to bring same-sex domestic partner health benefits to more than 780,000 employees of four Fortune 500 companies: UPS, Home Depot, Sprint and DuPont. In 2005, Londell joined the Denver Employment Alliance, a start-up nonprofit organization that serves the workforce development sector of Denver, as the Association Director. In September 2006, Londell joined the staff of the National Endowment for Financial Education where he is currently the Assistant Director of Grants Administration.
Outside of all of the work Londell finds himself involved with, Londell still finds time to volunteer on boards and committees of various organizations. He has sat on the board of the following organizations: The Alexander Foundation; The Spirituals Project; and Out4Life Colorado. Londell has volunteered for the following organizations: Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (Member – Inclusiveness Committee); La Conéxion Mentoring Program (Mentor); National Council of Nonprofit Associations (Member – Membership Committee); Project Angel Heart (Volunteer); and the City of Aurora Human Relations Commission (Commissioner). Currently, Londell is a commissioner for the Denver Office of Strategic Partnership and is an active advisory board member of the Center for Nonprofit Administration at Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Londell is a Denver native who gradated from Denver's East High school. After graduating, Londell left Denver to attend Morehouse College. In 1997, Londell returned to Denver and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Independent Studies with a concentration in Nonprofit Administration in Urban Communities from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2003. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Nonprofit Management program at the University of Maryland. In his free time, Londell enjoys long walks, jogging, biking, hiking, camping, volleyball, gardening, crocheting and working on his culinary skills, while spending time with his partner John and their pets.

Kelly Kleppe has been with the Bush Foundation since 2000, most of that time as Grants Manager. She was promoted to Director of Program Operations in July 2008. Previous work experience includes nine years in the University of Minnesota's investment office. Kelly serves on the Board of GMN, is Co-Chair of the Conference Committee, a member of the national advisory committee for Project Streamline, and a member of the Communications Committee. In addition, she serves on the Steering Committee of GMN's Minnesota Region. Kelly holds a master's degree from the University of Minnesota.

Biography:
Andrew McFarland is a Grants Management Specialist at the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), where he is responsible for implementing the grants management functions of the single largest funder of stem cell research in the country. His responsibilities include ensuring accurate reporting of financial and programmatic activities funded by the institute and that grants are awarded, administered and terminated in accordance with established policies and procedures. Mr. McFarland has broad experience in all aspects of the grantmaking process for a wide variety of philanthropic entities, including applicant research, full due diligence assessments, financial reporting, docket preparation, supervising staff, preparing and managing budgets, and assisting executive staff and board in fulfillment of organizational goals. He has a strong background in creating processes, implementing systems and designing workflows for grant-making programs in early-stages of development. He earned a BFA in painting with combined study at Syracuse University and Middlesex Polytechnic in London.

Biography:
Adin Miller serves on the Board of Directors of GMN. Prior to moving to California, he was the director of American Legacy Foundation's grants program where he formulated and developed grant opportunities and research demonstration projects, set policy for grant and project conditions and management, and was integrally involved in determining the foundation's philanthropic direction.
Before joining Legacy in January 2000, Adin worked as a program officer with the AmeriCorps division of the Corporation for National Service, where he managed grants totaling $20 million. He also helped establish the Partnership for National Service, a nonprofit organization funded by the Ford Foundation to support AmeriCorps programs. Prior to his work in national service, Adin worked at Citizens Union, B'nai B'rith International, and the American Jewish Congress.
Adin holds a master's degree in public administration from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University. Following his formal graduate education, Adin studied strategic public sector negotiation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Kyle Reis has twenty years experience working at a major international foundation, where his responsibilities have encompassed all facets of programmatic and administrative work. In his current role as Assistant Manager, Program Staff Development at the Ford Foundation, he helps coordinate professional development for the Foundation's program officers worldwide. He has a long affiliation with the philanthropic sector, where he currently serves as Co-Chair of the GMN Board. Mr. Reis actively participates in a local education foundation and a family foundation, and has three daughters to keep him busy when he is not working.
